Our present competition (Genre/Feature/Hauntings) is open until November 30, 2017, 11:59pm AEST.
Field of Words runs international writing competitions across a range of categories, including short stories, flash fiction, memoir and feature/genre (for 2017, this category has a ghost or ‘hauntings’ theme). All entrants must be aged 18 and over. All categories offer cash prizes for the winners and runners-up. See individual submissions pages for more details.
The names and works of competition winners and runners-up will be published on our Welcome page and promoted across our social media channels, including Facebook. The names and works of all monthly finalists will be published on the relevant competition finalists page and also promoted on social media. The announcement of finalists is dependent upon the quality of work submitted. If stories do not meet the high standard expected of a competition finalist, then no finalists will be chosen for that month.
See each competition submissions page for more information about how to enter, entry fees, rules and guidelines. See the Critiquing and Editing Services page for more information about how we can help you further develop your writing skills.
Please note, by entering our competition/s, or by seeking our professional editing services, you agree to receiving the FoW monthly newsletter. This will provide you with important updates and useful writing tips. An unsubscribe option is available.
