Investigating Plot and Structure
This is a single module (the third within the Emerging Writers' Course) that examines the difference between plot and structure in narrative. Participants will learn about the mechanics of plot, while also investigating different types of story structure. Various techniques concerning the manipulation of plot and structure, such as foreshadowing, withholding information from readers and using significant detail, will be investigated. Consisting of three units, this module contains a variety of writing exercises, as well as recommended readings and viewings.
